The National Schools’ Regatta is the largest regatta for juniors in Great Britain. Held annually in May, the regatta offers events for Junior rowers between J14 and J18. The regatta was first raced in 1947, and has since grown to what is a world class event enjoyed by clubs and schools across the United Kingdom.

Over a long weekend, Stourport Boat Club were represented with 4 crews attending:

The J14 Double of Sam Branford and Callum O’Reilly once again delivered an outstanding performance.  Over the last few weeks, they have been winning at local regattas and now were able to test themselves at the highest level.

There were so many entries that the boys first had to get through their time trial, to see them qualify for the semi-final.  A strong performance saw them through to the final.

They finished up in 5th place, a superb performance for a relatively new combination. Very well done lads!

Shauna McClaren missed out on a semi-final place by only 2 Seconds another encouraging performance

Bruce McClaren competing in one of the toughest events at the Regatta gained valuable experience on the multi-lane course. J17 sculls was one of the biggest entries at the Regatta.

The Girls J16 Quad consisting Eleanor Shepherd, Frankie Ward, Sian Hinton and Harriet Blackmore just missed out on a final finishing fourth in the semi-final.

Well done to all the above, you flew the SBC flag at the very top level !
