150 Years on the River
Since its foundation in 1876, Stourport Boat Club has been at the heart of life on the River Severn, combining a proud sporting heritage with a welcoming community spirit. From the very first Town Regatta, which marked the beginning of organised rowing in Stourport, the Club has grown through generations of dedication, teamwork, and a shared passion for the river.
In 2026, SBC celebrates 150 years on the water — a remarkable milestone that reflects our journey from those early days of competitive rowing to the thriving club we are today. With a proud history, a strong future, and one of the country’s most respected annual regattas, Stourport Boat Club continues to celebrate tradition while inspiring new generations of rowers and river enthusiasts.
Discover more about our fascinating journey, from the first races of 1876 to the Club’s place in modern rowing, on our History page.
